Structure and competences of the Governing Council in Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans entering into full communion with the Catholic Church
Paweł Zając
The article presents the norms regarding the composition, mandate and functioning of the Governing Council in Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans, established under the Apostolic Constitution of Benedict XVI Anglicanorum coetibus and Complementary Norms issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
The Governing Council is an obligatory collective body invoked in each Personal Ordinariate. It is composed of at least six priests. It exercises the functions specified in the Code of Canon Law of 1983 for the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, as well as those areas specified in the Complementary Norms.
The Governing Council is created under the Statutes of Council. However in the present day there are Statutes which have not been approved by the Holy See. The Author concentrates on the norms contained in the Code of Canon Law 1983 applied by the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors adapting them to the specificity of the Governing Council.
