International Conference ‘La rivalité en langue et en littérature’ at the KUL
The Department of Romance Cultures and Literatures, the Department of Romance Linguistics, the Department of Language Acquisition and Didactics of the Faculty of Humanities of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, in cooperation with the Foundation for the Development of the Catholic University of Lublin, have the honour to invite you to the international conference ‘La rivalité en langue et en littérature’, which will be held on 23-25 October 2024.
The event will bring together more than 50 Polish and international scholars to address the topic of rivalry in literature, linguistics and didactics. The conference aims to explore the various aspects of rivalry that may exist in the above research disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the aims and ideas that rivalry brings with it, as well as its impact on creative and scholarly processes. The programme will include presentations on rivalry in literature, including conflicts between writers and differences between literary genres, as well as linguistic analyses related to the semantics and lexis of the concept of rivalry.
The conference, held in French, is aimed at scholars and people interested in the culture and literature of France and Francophone countries. The event is organised under the honorary patronage of the French Embassy, the French Institute in Poland and the Mayor of Lublin. The media patrons of the event are TVP3 Lublin, Radio Lublin and Dziennik Wschodni.
