We are happy to announce, that the School of Polish Language and Culture KUL received funding from The Polish National Agency For Academic Exchange for the summer courses of Polish language and culture within NAWA Summer Courses program in 2023! Following that we start our recruitment for an on-site course taking place at the main university campus carried out from 3 to 30 July 2023. We open continuous call for applications until the limit of places is exhausted, recruitment lasts until May 10, 2023.
Accepted participants will be informed by e-mail within 1 week from the date of receiving the application by the School. The lack of response means a negative decision related to the acceptance to the program.
The courses are intended for students and scientists of foreign universities who are foreigners or have dual citizenship (Polish and citizenship of another country), for whom Polish is not the first language, who do not study in Poland, are not employed and do not live in Poland, and speak Polish or English at the level of at least B1.
The course program includes intensive classes in Polish as a foreign language; trips to Warsaw, Sandomierz and sightseeing of Lublin with a tour guide; workshops of Polish traditional dance; concert of folk music; visits in institutions assisting foreigners; lectures on Polish history and culture, and integrative events such as country presentations, city game, or Polish pronunciation contest.
Participation in the course (including accommodation and meals) and all related activities is free of charge for accepted participants. The scholarship does not cover travel costs to/from Poland, which are covered by the participants. To participate in the course, it is required to have a valid health insurance for the duration of your stay.
Candidates will undergo both formal and substantive assessment and based on that will be accepted to the program. Moreover, preferred candidates are those, who did not use this type of scholarship before (eg. programs of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Education), and especially those who did not have NAWA scholarship before. The final decision of the recruitment committee will be announced until May 10.
Our recruitment criteria corrresponds to the official announcement published by The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, we pay special attention to:
1) Indicating the country of origin - it allows to reward the applications received from the list of preferred countries by NAWA and to ensure diversity of course participants, when it comes to the country of origin, university etc.
2) Indicating relations with Poland and Poles - participation in events of Polish diaspora, associations, Polish clubs, etc.
3) Studying in the field of Polish philology, Slavic Studies or Central and Eastern European issues.
4) Scientific achievements connected with Polish culture, politics, history.

- all personal data including the number of the document, based on which you plan to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland;
- NAWA Summer Course concerns only a 4-week course from 3 do 30 July (semi-intensive course) - only those options should be marked;
- indicating emergency contact person in Poland is not obligatory - in such case please provide "not applicable".
Incorrectly submitted application forms that do not include relevant information will not be accepted from a formal point of view and will not be answered.
