Prof. dr habil. Iwona Niewiadomska

Prof. Iwona Niewiadomska, PhD - psychologist, Head of the Department of Social Psychoprophylaxis at the Catholic University of Lublin. Graduated from the Faculty of Psychology and Law at the Catholic University of Lublin. An employee of the Catholic University of Lublin since 1993, she has held such positions as Director of the Institute of Psychology (2008-12), Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Social Sciences (2013-16) and Vice-rector for Education (2016-2020). Director, substantive coordinator and implementer of numerous scientific and research and development projects. 2024 was awarded the title of professor of social sciences and was appointed as provincial consultant in the field of addiction psychotherapy. She is one of the creators of a programme run by the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) to rehabilitate prisoners by enabling them to obtain higher education. She was also instrumental in getting the Catholic University of Lublin accredited to provide specialisation training in the field of addiction psychotherapy. Her scientific interests include: psychosocial risk factors of social pathologies, psycho-prevention of social pathologies, criminology, forensic and penitentiary psychology and chemical and functional addiction therapy.
