They learn Polish language and culture at the Catholic University of Lublin

About a hundred people from all over the world participate in summer language programs organized by the Catholic University of Lublin. - There is no more effective advertisement of our country and region than showing the richness of Polish culture, language and traditions on the spot - says Cezary Ruta, director of the School of Polish Language and Culture at the Catholic University of Lublin.

A professional team of teachers, a rich curriculum tailored to the various expectations of the students, original lectures delivered by specialists, and finally a rich cultural and tourist program - these are the features of the summer courses prepared by the School of Polish Language and Culture of the Catholic University of Lublin. This year they are being held for the 51st time and are attended by about a hundred people from 33 countries. Most participants come from the US, France, Mexico, Slovakia, Taiwan and the UK.

As noted by the Catholic University of Lublin's Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Ewa Trzaskowska, with each edition the number of candidates interested in taking part in the summer courses of the Catholic University of America's School of Polish Language and Culture increases. - This is extremely gratifying, as it proves the high evaluation of our program - says Prof. Ewa Trzaskowska.

The summer language programs run from July to the end of September, and the offer includes courses of varying length and intensity. Classes last from 5 to 8 hours a day. During them, students explore the secrets of the Polish language supplemented by lectures on Polish culture, literature and history. In their free time, course participants not only visit Lublin, but also take part in excursions to Sandomierz, Kozłówka, Zamość or Warsaw.

Students of the summer courses also take part in plays and film screenings, concerts or dance workshops and city games.

- I'm taking part in the course for the second time - says one student who came to Lublin from Turkey and is taking part in the summer courses for the second time. - I chose the Catholic University of Lublin because a friend recommended the summer courses here, praising the high level. I really liked the friendly atmosphere here, where people from all over the world feel comfortable here in Lublin. It is for this atmosphere that I chose the Catholic University of Lublin once again - she adds.

Listeners of this year's summer courses are also scholarship recipients of the National Agency for Academic Exchange - students of Slavic studies and scholars whose work includes works related to Polish history, culture or politics. Participation in the courses and all related activities is free of charge for NAWA scholarship holders.
